My Friends (pets) and Me…
“A dog, I have always said, is prose; a cat is a poem.“
Jean Burden
I love animals. I admire them. I am capable of great discomfort and sacrifices for them.
I respect them. I don’t eat them. I think life is richer because of them. They are beautiful.
They are useful. So I live always surrounded by at least a dog and cat. I wish I could have more…
Maya
“In order to keep a true perspective of one’s importance, everyone should have a dog
that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him.”
Derek Bruce
Well, here are my darlings as I loved and lost them… (how very short life they have) and those who still
make my life happier, giving me their love and affection and so much more…
“In life the firmest friend, the first to welcome, foremost to defend.”
George Gordon, Lord Byron, of a dog.
MY DOGS:
What dog thinks:
“They feed me, love me and take care of me: they must be gods!”
This is Brit. Brit (A.) Because all my dog’s names are Brit, since I came to US. Perhaps I’m a little peculiar in this, but… Back home I had Brian, German Sheppard, wonderful dog, well-trained (this was my big hobby, dog training) but he already passed away before I left my country.
I didn’t have a dog for some years living in New Your City and working day and night at a start of my new life here.
But the moment we bought our first house in Adirondacks, upstate New York, our first trip was to Pennsylvania to pick-up my 4 months old Rottweiler. My life in that area will always be connected with him in my memory, he was superior companion in every way. His loss was a terrible blow to me and it was just a bad accident. I left for Germany to work with US Air-Force as a financial adviser and Brit obviously went with me. On one of our walks in a woods he chased some animal and contracted rabies. I still don’t know how this was possible, because he was properly vaccinated. I returned back to US without him, he is buried in Germany. Never forgotten…
Taking me for walks in every weather, we were browsing the woods, looking for berries and mushrooms,
it was a good life there after years in hectic NYC, but winters were brutal…
Resting after hours of landscaping work where he was a great help, including being underfoot…
He loved his own house that we built for him equipped with carpeting and some other comforts, he simply
preferred colder weather outside and at night always wanted to sleep there.
“Hello good body, you are allowed to my house..”
Brit (B) – Doberman – full name Brit Orel Ryan von Luxus….:)
Son of champion Blitz from Canada. We’ve made a trip to Canada to pick him up at age of 2 months.
Unforgettable dog, superior guard dog, bit too attached, didn’t like anybody else besides me. Still, to ones he deemed worthy he always offered his handshake. (I cry now…its so hard to loose them…)
I lost him at age 10, suddenly. Vet doctor suspected some hidden heart problem although Brit never showed any indication of it during his life. I still mourn him…never forgotten…
Here is growing, his ears finally stayed up after being held up by sticks and band-aids….
In training…I think here he is here about 8 months old, we went on endless walks all over Colorado.
Resting in his home territory…he was extremely handsome boy, got tons of compliments all the time…
He was so very anxious to be always ready to please and do his duties, I sometimes wished he was
more cool about it like Brit (A) was.
So this is my current Brit. Passed 3 years. Energy as a dynamo…
Brit (C) Rhodesian Ridgeback. He was born as a first and strongest boy and that shows in his tendencies to be dominant. But his master (me) is stubborn too…LOL! Keeping in mind he is Lion hunter… he is most cool, totally courageous, no obstacle for him ever in anything, lovable creature, real representative of his very unusual breed. I’m enclosing nice video I discovered about Ridgebacks, also some facts about this breed.
Growing up as a rascal. This picture won for my cousin some price, she entered it in some contest when I sent
it to her to Czech Republic.

Early walks: Couldn’t wait till he grew up a bit, I am partial to large breeds. One of the reasons is that
I’m very active and like brisk walks at least 45 min in a shot so I need an active companion also…His life still continues in excitement and new daily discoveries, I’ll post more of him…He is getting strong,
darkened in color, I simply love him as I loved those before him…

MY CATS:
What cat thinks:
“They feed me, love me and take care of me: I must be a god!”
I left behind me in Europe male cat Zappa. It was very hard, he was really super smart, wonderful boy.
But he was left with great family, parents of very good friend.
Before all my cats became “Kimis” by name, which is my “special” a very favored name, I had little Tomi, she died early having leukemia and Keri, below picture I had to leave with friend agent when I went to Germany.

Then came my first Kimi, best cat I’ve ever had, Main-coon. I love this bread, very calm and balanced, do not climb window drapes :) and have very disarming, affectionate, rather funny personality. This Kimi lived 14 years.
This is her typical pose. She was very funny with this. When standing she twisted her had to the side and made fast “bang” movement in on the side and back.
I have now totally identical Kimi, in color and all, being very partial to this breed.
So I shall end this for me enjoyable and at the same time sad reminiscing with optimism and wishes for
good home and treatment of all God’s creatures and with deep thank you to all people who are animal lovers.
Here are last “sayings” to end on happy note and please accept them as they are. They’ll return favor…
“Dogs come when they are called; cats take a message and get back to you.”
Mary Bly
“If animals could speak the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow,
but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much.”
Mark Twain
Together in natures harmony with all living creatures,
