The Crack In The Pot
One old Chinese woman had two large pots for water and wore them
on poles hanged on the shoulders.
One of the pots had a crack, while the second was without flaws
and always maintained full portion of water.
After a long road from the river to the house of the old woman one of the pitchers was always half empty.
During two whole years the old woman brought to the house always only one half water in one jug.
A good pitcher was, of course, always proud of its feat.
But the poor cracked pot was very ashamed and troubled for its mistakes
that he could do only half of what was intended for him.
After two years that seemed horrible to him, finally said to the woman:
“I am ashamed for my crack, because it is leaking water all over the road to your house. ”
The old woman smiled;
“You do not notice on your side of the road blooming flowers and not on the other?”
I sowed the seeds on your side, because I knew about your break and thus every time
on our way back home you water them.
For two whole years I could picked these beautiful flowers
and adorn a table with them.
If you were not such,
this beauty would not exist and wouldn’t have adorned our house. ”
Each of us has his faults,
but it is what makes our life interesting and valuable.
We should accept every human being as he is and see first of all what is good.
Also you, my friends with a some of a “break” in your jug,
have a nice day and don’t forget the joy and the beautiful smell of flowers
on your side of the path.
Find the time and share this message with all your friends …
God knows what is in us!
